If it's one thing about Rey that hasn't changed after her most recent return from home, it's that Firo is right to worry. She isn't that good at taking care of herself, and fuck all if she'll ever learn. If her current physical state is any indicator, she still has a penchant for recklessly throwing herself into a fray, regardless of the damage it'll do to her. Like a kid that keeps touching a burning stove, really. Except that the stove wouldn't be able to hurt Rey.
Which makes the one thing said by someone Rey has both hurt greatly and yet come to care about even harder to deal with now -- actually being able to live with herself, for herself.
How the fuck is she supposed to do that
While Sophie's gone and Firo expected within the next few minutes, Rey has been spending some time sifting through the network while sitting on the floor in the corner of the room. Hard surfaces have always been more comfortable, making it easier to think. At least she's not too much of a nervous wreck when she hears Firo's voice outside the quarters.
Setting down the communicator on the floor, she pushes herself onto her feet and goes to unlock the door, as it slides open to reveal Firo on the other side.
Despite her marginally rougher appearance, she is able to manage a smile. A lot of crap has happened, but it's always good to see a friendly, familiar face.
"It's good to see you," she admits. "Do you want to come in or do you have somewhere else in mind?"
