NOTE: As of 12/2016, Rey has adopted the alias "Fiona Stransky" when working with the Guard. Something to keep in mind, as Rey maintains a low profile with her involvement in the group. Other than what is mentioned in the Guard records, there is no trace of a "Fiona" identified on the network.
[It's a loving sort of pestering, at least. Initially the cat's persistence was irritating and sometimes downright disturbing, but Rey can't deny that this place would feel emptier without him.
[Is it just her, or is Atem a little more enthusiastic than usual? Hard to tell with him.
[Rey starts to speak, only to have that same cat deposited onto her.
[A startled yelp escapes her as she struggles a moment to balance the tea in her hands as Tripod lands over her lap, his stiff feet in the air before awkwardly rolling off her legs. He makes a little squeaky complaint.]
Hey, watch it! [But Atem is already gone to the kitchen again, and Tripod is swiftly making himself comfortable at Rey's side.]
「By the time that Atem returns, he's carrying a plate with a generous serving of pasta and vegetables on top, it doesn't look bad at all and it smells even better. It's the magic of canned food. He must've finished his cup of tea on at some moment too, it might be a little too obvious as he stands next to her bed, just, admiring the plate.」
Wow. 「There is rather long pause in there.」 I made this.
「After what seems to be a whole minute of more staring at the food, he offers it at her.」
[Did he... finish the tea already? It's not like Carlisle gave any clear instructions not to, but he did specify that it's a "mild painkiller at best" without an enchantment, and that it's stronger to accommodate her "nature" -- whatever that means.
[Oh, god. The kid's not going to have an overdose, is he? Better watch.

[She sets her half-finished mug of tea aside and takes the plate.]

[All things considered, none of those things are new, and yet they're still strange for Rey to hear. Probably because she just... expects it already, and it's more comfortable that way when things aren't said and there's that safe little filter.
[Rey shovels some more pasta into her mouth, making a muffled noise akin to a laugh at Atem's concerns. Despite her mouth full, she starts to say something, only to--
[Yup, sorry. She's choking now.]
Wh-- [Cough. Hack. She pounds on her chest as the food goes down. Oh god. She manages to swallow but she's still coughing after.
[Look at what you did now, bro. You had to go and say the L-word.]
「Well, they do! Of course, he's always have this annoying habit of saying those things that no one else does, because hearing them is definitely different.
He doesn't seem incredibly concerned that food went just other way, but he does offer her the rest of her tea. Don't die now that we established how important you are, okay?」
[Wiping strained tears from her eyes with the back of one hand, Rey reaches over and grabs the handle of the mug with her other after setting her plate on her lap. She might be choking, but she still has some coordination, thank god.]
「Atem has to only observe, it possibly couldn't be something he said, right? Why would it!? Maybe, later, when he's thinking better, he'll realize it. Maybe not.
Since she's not exactly dying, then it's all good.」

[She isn't going to hold it against Atem for not knowing, though. To most, Rey's hangups over people expressing love towards her in any capacity is terrifying. So much so that she nearly stabbed Rose over it.
[Tripod makes a surprised (but not totally unhappy) chirp as he's transported from one place to another. He doesn't fight, just let's it happen. Most cats despise bellyrubs, but there's very little that the little guy dislikes.]
So, that is why Nick sent you? [She sighs and rubs her forehead, before going to take another drink again.] You know what? He's earned that one.
[Rey isn't so ignorant to her own pattern of behavior that she's going to conveniently ignore Nick's concern, especially after what he did for her.]
[They'd come to an understanding that, in order to take care of each other, they'd also have to take care of themselves. Rey hasn't forgotten about that.
[After a few more drinks, she glances to Atem playing with Tripod. The corner of her lip twitches.] You know, you're all right.
「Water you doing Rey... the last time someone did that was, probably his dad. Because who in their right mind ruffle the Pharaoh's hair, really? Okay maybe Jounouchi, but not when he was in da house. He might or not be blushing a little.」
[Rey totally is That Person who would ruffle the Pharaoh's hair, because that's exactly what she's doing right now.]
