NOTE: As of 12/2016, Rey has adopted the alias "Fiona Stransky" when working with the Guard. Something to keep in mind, as Rey maintains a low profile with her involvement in the group. Other than what is mentioned in the Guard records, there is no trace of a "Fiona" identified on the network.
[Eyes darting from Atem to the brush, Rey reluctantly takes it. She remembers what he said about her hair as well, but didn't think much of it afterward.]
Thanks? [She hesitates. If she's going to be wearing a dress, that probably means she should at least make the scruffy mop on her head somewhat presentable.
[sigh]
You want to come in for a bit while I get ready, then? [She assumes that he's here for more than just the brush, anyway.]
「Does she even know how to use one of those? Let's find out, he goes in.」
Do you need help with that?
「Is that awkward to ask? Look, all his life people helped him get dressed and stuff, and then, his partner didn't seem to mind him being around when he did that too giving his opinion about things and all. It's normal to him!」
Mn. [Her mouth tightens into a thin line. She closes the door behind her once Atem steps in.] Think so. Maybe. The whole "dressing up" thing only tends to happen every once in a blue moon.
[She knows how to put on the clothes, but anything beyond that she usually either had help with or ignored entirely.]
[Rey nods, leaving Atem to himself while he waits. Tripod will keep him company in the meantime.
[Thanks to the simple design, Rey really isn't gone for very long. When she reemerges from her room, she's sporting what is probably a familiar green dress -- the same one she wore a few months back, though woefully misused for someone spending that time drinking alone.
[Despite the one use, it's been cleaned since then. Her combat boots are still somewhat visible under the long hem of the dress. Don't be judging.]
Don't really have a big selection. [Rey admits, trying to cool her flushed face. Damn these things feel weird. Not awful, but weird.]
Thanks... Margaery made it. Would be a pain to let her work go to waste.
[Hence she should probably wear the damn dress.
[Rey ducks her head, scratching the side of her neck before she takes a seat on the couch. She hands the brush over to Atem with her free hand. Figured she'd probably be needing this.]
Sorry it's such a damn mess. [It's obvious she doesn't pay much mind to her hair, save for the fruity-scented shampoos she finds stocked at the shops.]
「Ah, yes, he remembers Margaery telling him about it, he also promised her he'd take a pic of to show her how good it looked.」
It's fine, I mean, have you seen mine? It was a nightmare when they still tried to tame it. Until they gave up and let it be.
「He starts from the tips, it's not exactly tangled more than all over that place and it's quite soft, so he shouldn't hurt her at any moment; and then he stops.」
[Rey sighs and gets up, relocating to the chair in the bathroom since that seems to be where they're going now. This suddenly got more complicated than she was expecting it to be.]
Top drawer, right there. [She nods her head at it when she notices Atem seems to be looking for the razor.]
「This is the least complicated thing wow! He finds it and before he gets on that, he takes off his jacket, putting it on her shoulders instead, it'd be annoying to have little hairs on her dress. And so, he starts just cutting the ends, just a little, not much but it will hopefully make a difference. Soon the swishing sound of the razor stops and he busies himself with something else.」
[It's complicated when all you were planning was to sit down and have your sloppy hair brushed! But Atem is taking his time with this. When he speaks, Rey just arches a brow but doesn't dare move her head, not to look at him or even glance at the mirror she barely uses.]
[Usually when people say "you'll see", it's reason to worry. But Atem seems pretty sure of what he's doing, and it's not like he can make her look any worse than she already does.
[That's not a slight on you, little buddy.
[When he's done, she finally turns her head. Feels weird. Like--]
Shit, can't believe you actually managed a braid in this thing. [She tilts her head to get a look at the mirror. Who is that stranger with the slightly groomed up hair? We just don't know!]
[Rey is quiet a moment. The braid reminds her of Faye, how she always did up her ginger hair before the sky prison. Of course, she had more hair to braid than Rey does, but that's where her mind goes to...]
「Her answer has him smiling, There was always the chance that she'd say no and he'd just undo them, no big deal at all, but it's nice that she likes it! He seems a little excited now, and doesn't hesitate to answer when she asks this time.」
No, hold on.
「He steps out of the bathroom just to bring in his satchel, having left it on the couch, he brings out of it something that seems like a very used lipstick. It is a very used lipstick. No, it's not his.」
[Soon as Atem announces that he's not finished, Rey sits her butt back down on that chair.] All right...
[Yup, this is fine.
[Although she can't mask the obvious disbelief when he returns, presenting a certain piece of, albeit used, makeup.]
Wh- Seriously? [Rey might have dressed fancy before, but dolling herself up with paint and powder is something else entirely.] Where the hell did you manage to get that? And why?
[It doesn't immediately occur to her that it's not Atem's.]
