Body and Appearance
→ Muscular and athletic.
✘ How old is she?
→ She appears as someone in her late-20s/early-30s.
✘ Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?
→ Rey typically carries an unreadable body language about her, and she doesn't even need to make a conscious effort to hide this fact. She normally keeps a ridged posture always, all the time, no matter what situation she's in, or how "relaxed" or drunk or high she is. She's described as standing "like a soldier at attention" constantly, because it's how she was essentially programmed to be. She will attempt to mimic certain habits of other people, like she copied the way Ariadne shrugs from one of their earlier meetings. She's also developed a penchant for rubbing her own shoulder from her brother, just out of habit as opposed to actually needing to. She just hasn't really copied anyone's ability to smile that much yet.
→ Rey has developed certain bad habits, though. The biggest one is chewing. She'll chew on her lip, and sometimes even on her own fingers. Not her nails, her actual fingers. It's not very pretty. She may even start chewing her lip to the point where she's cut it open with her teeth.
→ She does not do wild gestures all that much, but she does have a classic case of a staring problem. Feel like someone's watching you? It's probably Rey. It's not that she doesn't trust you, it's that... she probably doesn't trust you! :)
✘ How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
✘ How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
✘ How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?
✘ Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
She has a golden peach complexion, slightly tanned.
The scars on her face are deliberate rather than accidental, though one may or may not be perceptive enough to notice right off the bat. On her left cheek: A cross about an inch under her eye, and another horizontal that comes up from under her chin. On her right cheek: A diagonal scar a couple inches below her eye, across the side of her forehead, and another vertical one coming up from her jaw.
✘ Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
Mahogany brown with some streaks of gray that may not be noticeable at first glance. You'd really have to get a good look up close.
✘ What color are her eyes?
Forest green.
✘ Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
✘ What are her chief tension centers?
✘ What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
✘ Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?
✘ Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?
✘ You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Speech
→ She actually sounds a lot softer in tone than you'd expect her to be. I tend to go with her sounding a bit like her PB, Jena Malone, albeit a few dissimilarities. Mostly in that she sounded more stiff and robotic at first. Since her recent canon update, though, she's gone through some drastic changes, and probably sounds a lot more like she does in that short movie, Dakota. She's mostly different now in that Rey may curse sometimes when she gets genuinely upset, and can actually express that she's upset in the first place. A rare and amazing new feat, really.
Of course, Jena Malone has also said "I can kill you with one hand!" in a sweet voice during an interview one time, which kind of makes me feel like I chose the perfect PB for her voice, if nothing else.
✘ How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
✘ Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
→ So yeah, normally she's got a West Coast American-sounding accent most of the time, but she's familiar with a variety of languages and is more than capable of faking an accent if she really wanted to. Irish, British, German, Russian, she'll actually play the part if she has to. Seventy years of inserted memories and espionage isn't entirely wasted on a singular identity and all.
✘ What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
→ As mentioned above, she has been able to fake her own identity, which allowed her the ability to speak a variety of different languages. English, German, and Russian are a given. But others would include Spanish, French, and Arabic.
✘ Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Not really.
✘ Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
✘ Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Mental and Emotional
✘ Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?
✘ Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
✘ What kind of education has the character had?
✘ What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?
✘ Is she an introvert or an extrovert?
✘ Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
→ Amazingly enough, she's a bit laid back. Rey can't even hold a grudge. At all. It depends on what they've done, but for the average person she can pretty much let the shit they do slide. It's not so much that she DOESN'T CARE, but it's just that she doesn't waste any time or energy on the effort that it takes to carry out long-term grudges against someone. But again, it depends.
✘ How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
✘ Is she more likely to act, or to react?
✘ Which is her default: fight or flight?
✘ Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
✘ Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?
✘ What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
✘ What does she fear?
✘ What are her hopes or aspirations?
✘ What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
✘ Does she cry?
→ Yes. Surprisingly. She's only really cried once, and that was in canon after she watched the final aria to Dido And Aeneas.
She also cries when a certain someone is about to die. Obviously she's not really one for breaking out the waterworks, though she is more of a "quiet sobbing" type than SNOT AND TEARS EVERYWHERE.
Relationships
Well, her mother figure picked her brain apart and her father figure wanted her dead for several decades... But other than that, Rey has fond memories of Undine Stransky before she died. And her relationship with Lucas Coffey was rather strained before he sought her out to help her. It took a few years for him to gain her trust again, but they kind of learned how to get along.
✘ Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
She has a brother whose the closest thing to a biological sibling. In that they share the same male and female genetic DNA (from Lucas and Undine).
✘ Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
✘ Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
✘ Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
✘ Does she have other close friends?
✘ Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?
✘ Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
✘ Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
✘ Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
✘ Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
✘ What does she look for in a romantic partner?
✘ Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?
✘ Does she have any rivals or enemies?
✘ What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
✘ How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
✘ What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
→ Turn-ons: Guns are a major thing for her. Basically IF YOU CAN USE A GUN REALLY GOOD then you best get the fuck over here.
She also kind of has a nurturing complex, probably because of Undine's mothering her. Which is probably why her and Faye wound up fitting together so well without me even realizing it because Faye is a nurturing type who likes to care for people, and Rey is the type to get herself hurt. A lot. But yeah tl;dr her major turn-ons are motherly types and sharpshooters.
I should also mention that she actually appreciates femininity a lot. Despite the fact that she's not all that feminine herself, she admires those who are. I think it has more to do with the fact that she basically admires traits in a person that she's never had. She's never been nurtured that much or been allowed to be a woman, so it's one of the few things that makes her happy. She's just been surrounded by too much testosterone, haha.
→ Turn-offs: Body worship and people who talk about her body as though she were an object. She is all too used to that kind of thing and it actually makes her uncomfortable.
→ Weird bedroom habits: Rey is inexperienced and doesn't know much about what people really expect from her.
Also she is a terrible tooth-licking kisser. Because she has no idea what people would find hot and why not.
Beliefs
✘ Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
✘ Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
✘ How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?

Daily Life
✘ What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
✘ Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
✘ Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
✘ What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
✘ What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
✘ What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
→ For one thing, Rey is not much of a cook. She never really got into it since for so long her sense of taste was fucked up and everything tasted rancid to her. In that regard, to her it became like "Why bother? Everything's going to taste the same."
She lived off of MREs and shit during her time in the military, so she's used to pre-packed goods and stuff that can be whipped up on the fly. I don't think she'd have ever spent any longer than five minutes to prepare a meal, be it a sandwich or something that she can just grab and go with, like an apple or celery or whatever.
→ It did kind of occur to me recently that Rey is probably a closeted vegetarian and doesn't realize it yet. She's not a big fan of meat neither does she condone the harm of animals.
(Which I am aware is kind of ironic, but she really couldn't care less about people hurting people. After all, people are stupid -- but people hurting something that can't fight back, and she has watched this before in the back of a Chinese restaurant... on the back of her mind, it does leave a bad taste in her mouth.)
→ Rey does drink. Quite often. Her favorite alcoholic drink would be lager; the darker the beer the better. She doesn't mind other kinds of hard liquor, but something about German beer, wow...
→ Her favorite non-alcoholic drink would probably be ginger ale, actually. She likes something with a kick.
