NOTE: As of 12/2016, Rey has adopted the alias "Fiona Stransky" when working with the Guard. Something to keep in mind, as Rey maintains a low profile with her involvement in the group. Other than what is mentioned in the Guard records, there is no trace of a "Fiona" identified on the network.
Snake, huh? Was it good? ... or... I mean, could you taste it?
「Snake was one of those animals that were touchy to his people, demon or god? Destroyers and protectors? He's not even going to bother to go there, but it does sounds like yet another interesting story.」
A little over eighteen meters long. It was a giant fucker.
[Seriously. A 60-foot titanboa is no joke. Rey had go cut it up into sections to take home with her.]
On its own, it wasn't very flavorful. Had to come up with some recipes to make it actually taste good. [Rey smirks at the thought as she just. Nonchalantly starts to get the poor dead creature on her table with her bare hands. Gross.]
「There is a reason why he came to her instead of anyone else, if anything, he looks a little fascinated by how she works her way around the thing. But, yeah, it's a little gross anyway. Fascinatingly gross. There is something about hands he likes, how could he not? And her are no different, rough as them seem, so he enjoy watching her work for a little moment.」
Hopefully this won't need too much work. But-- lemme help you.
「There is surely something he can do, like putting things on bowls and what not.」
If anyone had told me long time ago that I would be hunting and dismembering my food before eating it, I would have laughed in their face.
「He was king, dudes! King! Pharaoh! Bow chicka wow wow!」
[If it's one thing that Rey can take pride in, it's being able to make use of her hands, rough and calloused as they are. She's deft and effective when it comes to taking apart a kill. With synthetics, she had dissected many just to figure out how they tick. Since her arrival to Hadriel, she has mostly been catching her own game, not trusting the meat in the shops ever since Rage tampered with the food so soon after Rey's arrival.
[When Atem speaks, it occurs to Rey that... she probably shouldn't just throw these guts on the floor. That's just gross, man. She nods her head towards the cabinet above the fridge.]
You'll probably need a chair-- [No offense, little dude. She's just being realistic here.] --but there're some cooking bowls up there. That'll be a start.
[Thank god she isn't doing this alone, because getting supplies while she's elbow-deep in gore is... a bad idea.
[His last comment she just scoffs at.] Right. You're some sort of big shot, aren't you? Hope this isn't too much for your delicate sensibilities.
[He mentioned being a king or something, right? Pretty sure that's what he was talking about.]
「If the comment about the chair offends him, it doesn't show. It doesn't. He does get the closest chair (he takes off his shoes, he's that mindful, at least) and gets what is needed.」
Who are you calling delicate?
「Pout. He's seen some shit, he just killed that thing!」
But... yeah, 「Not even going to deny it.」 I mean... we hunted for fun. Well, I hunted for fun, though, it wasn't as fun as they made it look either.
Not at all. The first time I did that was... here, but, heh, it was a wee fish for a friend... we cooked it, but I was seven, you know, that time when we somehow ended up as kids and all... But it was a fish.
「He says as he makes a face at the poor thing on the table.」
[This is what you sign up for when you become friends with Rey. Lots of harsh teasing is involved.]
A "wee fish". [Sorry Atem, that just sounds funny to her. She remembers the kid being an even tinier kid, so that happened.] Well, it looks like this guy's something along those same lines... like a crab or lobster. There's a big pot over there -- just fill it up with water and set it to boil on the stove.
[Just like before, she nods in the direction of the cooking supplies, rather than flinging her messy hands around.]
「In retrospective, it was quite the tiny fish! Poor Yehudit, of all people she had to befriend a useless prince.
But look at that he grew up to be not so useless as he follows Rey's instructions, he even adds some salt to the water, might as well.」
Thanks for helping me, Rey.
「He says as he busies himself helping her with the creature, but he doesn't quite mean this time only, if he thought about, it would have been terribly difficult to survive by himself on that orb trip, she had taught him quite a lot and kept doing so.」
[Although Rey doesn't say it, she does nod approvingly at his help. Eventually, she takes what she has and dumps some of the creature into the hot water. She had to cut up some of the carapace to make it fit, but she makes it work.]
It's no problem. Just glad to be able to help. [She takes his gratitude at face value, but it does sound like he is thanking her for more than just this.]
Meanwhile the thing cooks, Atem helps Rey clean too, he's not about to leave a mess in her place after this. He eventually lifts one of those blades that used to be arms, then the other... Huh...」
[They won't be cooking all the meat, so Rey intends to package up whatever she can for leftovers. Atem will probably be set for a while with how much is there.
[She glances over at what Atem's talking about and sees the blade that he's holding.]
What, you mean like a machete or something? Was thinking about the same thing.
Hmm... Maybe I can ask Curufin to make them a hilt... Would have to test how sturdy they really are, I mean, it didn't seem to have a problem to clash against metal, I don't know what material is even...
It's not a bad idea to make use of everything. Maybe this thing's carapace would make a decent shield. [She shrugs.] If anything they would make a nice wall mount at your place.
[Like many sportsmans do with their kills. You should make a trophy of your catch, Atem! Show the world you're a mighty hunter.]
「The suggestion of the shield doesn't go ignored, but Atem opts to not say much about it; the only flaw about his fabulous conquer over the creature, he wasn't wearing any kind of protection — he's not about to let her know that.」
That'd make a terrible waste of space, don't you think?
「He's no hunter! He's a duelist! A very nerdy one!」
... But, if it makes Kaiba jealous... 「He says with a cheeky smile. Nah, if anything he'd say it's ridiculous, but the thought is entertaining. He leaves the blades on the table, after cleaning them thoroughly.」
[Rey is not one to talk about protection -- but then, she is more prepared to go punching monsters in their stupid faces than Atem. However, she does still bleed.]
Wouldn't call something that could make make some negative space on your wall look cool a "waste of space". It's your choice, though.
[She shrugs, but then arches a brow at Atem bringing up Kaiba again.]
Don't think you did enough beating him at that card game or whatever the fuck that was? [Yeah, she was watching. Quietly. In total befuddlement.]
「If he gets that hint, he just half shrugs and plays coy, not that it's something he can pull off, he's too honest, his smug face says it all.」
Yeah, at least this time they were. I don't know this for sure, since it was my first time seeing holographic monsters back then when I first met Kaiba, but his supposedly feel... real, compared to normal holograms. Some of those hits we took actually hurt a little, just as a part of the experience. But, back home, our duels usually got a little more real than that, you couldn't tell the difference between the hologram and the monster actually being there, until it was a little too late, especially those involving the Egyptian God cards.
「He makes a little pause, realizing something.」
I think this has been the most normal duel we've ever had.
Heh, that's because you haven't seen us. You should try it someday anyway, it's more fun than it seems when you know how difficult it can be to get the perfect strategy, anticipating your opponent's movements can be quite the thrill.
action.
「Snake was one of those animals that were touchy to his people, demon or god? Destroyers and protectors? He's not even going to bother to go there, but it does sounds like yet another interesting story.」
How big, anyway?
action.

「Totally normal teen problems, huh?」
action.
[She knows what he means, but feels the need to jab him a bit more anyway. For fun. Someone's got to live a little sometimes, right? Yes.]
But you've never done the whole process of prepping a kill to eat?
[It's one of those basic survival skills that comes to Rey as a second nature.]
action.
Not at all. The first time I did that was... here, but, heh, it was a wee fish for a friend... we cooked it, but I was seven, you know, that time when we somehow ended up as kids and all... But it was a fish.

You think it'd be hard to learn how to use these?
action.
[She glances over at what Atem's talking about and sees the blade that he's holding.]
What, you mean like a machete or something? Was thinking about the same thing.
[Because of course she would.]
action.
What's a machete?
action.
It's... a slashing blade, like a cutlass. Can be used for agriculture or a weapon. They're pretty handy.
[Even more so when you try murdering the man who created you with one while drunk on tequila.]
action.
Hmm... Maybe I can ask Curufin to make them a hilt... Would have to test how sturdy they really are, I mean, it didn't seem to have a problem to clash against metal, I don't know what material is even...
「What a lovely story...」
action.
It's not a bad idea to make use of everything. Maybe this thing's carapace would make a decent shield. [She shrugs.] If anything they would make a nice wall mount at your place.

You saw it?! Did you like it?!
「Please repeat that, but out loud this time.」
action.
What does Pot of Greed do?]Um, well. It was... very showy.
[That's one way to describe it. Thank god it wasn't that difficult to keep up with what the hell was happening.]
action.
They explained it twice!」Heh... Yeah, Kaiba likes it that way.
「... don't start.」
He created the Solid Vision system, so the duels could... feel as if they were real.
action.
[Atem sure is pretty over the top himself, but he probably already knows that.]
So it's, what? Holographic?
action.
Yeah, at least this time they were. I don't know this for sure, since it was my first time seeing holographic monsters back then when I first met Kaiba, but his supposedly feel... real, compared to normal holograms. You call that normal?
[Color her shocked.]
It's... not a bad way to play, though. Definitely more entertaining than watching two guys throwing cards at each other on a table.
action.
Back home, yeah. Quite normal.
Heh, that's because you haven't seen us. You should try it someday anyway, it's more fun than it seems when you know how difficult it can be to get the perfect strategy, anticipating your opponent's movements can be quite the thrill.
「As she probably saw.」
